It's funny cuz it's true

Found this on Chris Byrne's blog.

Folks don’t understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in America. Well, there’s a very simple answer. Nobody bothered to check the oil. We just didn’t know we were getting low.

The reason for that is purely geographical.

Our OIL is located in: Alaska, California, Oklahoma, and Texas

Our DIPSTICKS are located in Washington DC

Intelligent Design On Trial

The ACLU has challenged a Pennsylvania school board that has chosen to endorse Intelligent Design. (a news release can be found here. Sadly the school district will probably give in, unwilling or unable to afford the cost of the trial. This is too bad really, because it would win and prevent the further brainwashing of the youth of America. The ACLU will most likely say that it violates separation of church and state, and if you can show me where the Constitution says that phrase, I will agree with you. Unfortunately it does not. In fact, if I remember correctly, the phrase appeared in a letter Jefferson was writing to a friend, and he used it to explain that the freedom of religion part is to prevent a state sponsored religion.

I can understand why some people might have a problem with Intelligent Design, but I have a solution that can make both sides of this debate happy. ID is not science. I know plenty of people who would say otherwise, but it isn't. In order to be considered science, it has to be proven using the scientific method. Until then it is a theory. ID and Evolution are both THEORIES! By teaching evolution as a theory instead of as science, and teaching ID as a theory, everyone will be happy, or at least slightly less mad. Not only that, but then the kids can decide for themselves which one to believe.

ACLU Surrenders!

Found this on Stop The ACLU (I love this site) I think I will take the same route as them and let the press release speaak for it's self (with just a little info from them.

"Saying that ACLU Nebraska “was just out of options,” executive director Tim Butz said it won’t take the Plattsmouth Ten Commandments case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Unless the ACLU’s Plattsmouth client finds another legal team to make a final appeal to the high court, the tombstone-shaped monument can remain in a city park in Plattsmouth, about 20 miles south of Omaha.

The 14 board members who attended a meeting voted unanimously not to fight the Aug. 19 appellate ruling."

The original case was filed by an athiest coward too scared to reveal their identity, who was offended by it because they could see it on their way to work. Apparantly looking away was impossible. The defenders of the commandments argued that the commandments were not an endorsement of religion since they were a gift donated in 1950s and 1960s by the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

I’m not going to expound very much on this other than to say it is a victory for religious freedom. Besides, Jefferson Downing, who had served as local counsel for Plattsmouth at each level of the case summed up my feelings nicely in one sentence.

“Those monuments aren’t a threat to America,” Downing said, “but the ACLU is a threat to our small towns.”

Amen to that brother!

Galactica Goodness

For the first time in a long time I am excited about a season DVD release. Just saw a commercial for the Battlestar Galactica Season 1 DVD, which had all of season 1 as well as the mini series that Sci Fi channel did a few years ago. I realy like this show. I have been watching season 2 since the season premier (the last episode of the season airs this Friday.) Since Smackdown moved to Fridays, I haven't been able to watch Stargate SG1 or Atlantis, but I can still watch Galactica (I tape the replays of the other shows and try to watch them the next day.) I wasn't able to watch the miniseries because I didn't have cable at the time, and I couldn't watch much of season 1. When I was able to see an episode, I usually didn't know what was going on. Since I was watching season 2 since the start, that really helped. Now I can watch season 1 and the mini series :) Now I just need the coin for the discs.

No More Kim?

Ok, this is fracked up. Normally, the first thing I do when I get home is check out Habb's blog, followed by Kim Du Toit's. Ok, that's not entirely true. The first thing I do is get something to eat, change out of my work cloths, and watch Deep Space 9 on Spike, but after I finish eating I check out those blogs.

About 10 days ago the Power Supply on my CPU decided to commit suicide, which is why I am typing this on my Laptop. I didn't want to put the Laptop online. It was a last resort, but that is a rant for a different time. When I finally got back online, I tried to get back into my normal surfing pattern, and for that first day everything was fine. Then the next day, Kim Du Toit's blog didn't want to load. After a week of trying, I finally got through, only to see a message that the site was permanently closed. WHAT! Thinking it was just my computer, I asked a friend to check it out for me and he got the same message.

So I decided to do some research. Was this for real? Was it the work of a hacker who hates Kim? Eventually a Google Search gave me the answers I needed. Rivrdog and The Anarchangel revealed that, in order to get a job he had applied for, Kim had to close down the blog. Chris Byrne, a friend of Kim's, has announced that the Nation Of Riflemen is still alive, with the forums available here Hopefully Kim's archive's will be available soon. Also hopefully he will continue to post, either on the NoR forums of on The Anarchangel, Chis Byrne's blog.

So why is this fracked up? Simple. In order to get the job Mr Du Toit had to give up his freedom of speech. I've never been in that bad of a financial situation, and as far as I'm concerned Kim did the right thing. He has been out of work for a while and had a family to think of. He did what he had to do and in my opinion, family comes first. I place the blame on his employer. If they did in fact tell him to shut the site down, then what they are doing is unconstitutional. I can understand if it is some Top Secret government thing, but as far as I know it isn't.

I've often told friends that I refuse to join the military, but I will fight to the death if I need to in order to protect this country and the values upon which it was formed. That is why I am writing this. It is my way of fighting against an un-Amarican employer. I know that they will never see this and I doubt that anyone will even read this, but this is all I can do to fight back against this injustice.

Hopefully Mr. Du Toit will be able to start the site back up soon or at least post the full story on his site. Until then thanks for posting Kim, and good luck.

LONG LIVE THE NATION OF RIFLEMEN!
