The Raven

While doing research into the works of Edgar Allen Poe, I came across an incredible find. A rare, hand written early manuscript, dated 1844 of "The Raven." It seems to be his thoughts while proof reading The Raven. the actual lines of the poem are in bold, while his thoughts are in italics.

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary.
I pondered "what the hell am I writting? Who speaks in such a way?
Once upon a midnight dreary? What does that even mean?
And who ponders anymore? No one, that is who.

Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
That makes no sense what so ever. What are Quaint and Curious volumes of lore?

While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.

That's rather repetative. I'll have to remove some of this "ppings" before sending this to be published.

" 'Tis some visiter," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door —
Only this, and nothing more."

Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December,

I could have sworn I wrote this in July, not December.

And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Hmm. I may have to rewrite this line. otherwise it may be viewed as encouraging people to start fires on their floors.

Eagerly I wished the morrow;
What the bloody hell is the Marrow?

— vainly I had tried to borrow
From my books surcease of sorrow

That makes even less sense then "Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,"

— sorrow for the lost Lenore —
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore —
Nameless here for evermore.

Finally I figured it out! I must have been inebriated when I wrote this. How else could Lenore be described as a beauty? While at West Point I saw horse dropping that were more attractive then her.

I must remember never again to drink before writing, for it results in senseless trip such as this. Perhaps I shall try using Cocaine. I have heard that it is believed to have reinvigorating properties that may be of use to me when writing late at night.

The rest of the page is covered in sketches. Some appear to be scenes from earlier works "The Pit and the Pendulum", "The Tell-Tale Heart", and "The Murders in the Rue Morgue", while the rest of the manuscript is covered wit sketches of nude women, some performing acts not suitable for description in a family publication.

The circumstances under which these thoughts were written are unknown. Perhaps they were written in his dieing days, when he suffered from halucinations and mental instability. Perhaps he had been high on Cocaine, which we now know is not the energizing substance they thought it was then. Whatever the case, it remains an interesting look into the mind of one of America's greatest authors.

Two posts in 1 Day!

I just realized I made 2 posts today! There might be hope for me posting more often yet!

Wait a second.

If I posted twice already, then posted again to say I posted twice, that would make this the third post of the day.

Please ignore the title of this post.

Fun With Hail

It started hailing earlier today. Not big hail, maybe pea sized at best. So what did I, a Dork Lord Of The Steve, do? I hopped on my trusty steed and went for a bike ride. Why?

Because I can

Just thought I would let you know. So next time it starts to hail, go for a ride. Unless its big hail. That stuff is dangerous.

Contemplations of a Freak Vol 1

Why do drinks like Pepsi Edge exist? is it merely to make idiots like me ask stupid questions? For those of you who don't know what Pepsi Edge is, it is Pepsi with 1/2 the sugar. Does it taste like Pepsi? Couldn't tell you. Not a big fan of colas, and I prefere Coke.

So why do they exsist? I think it is Pepsi's way to get to all those lo carb fanatics out there. Pepsi 1 (as well as Cokes version, which I don't remember the name of) bragged about the fact that it had only 1 gram of carbs. This was stupid because Diet Pepsi has 0 grams of carbs. Why make something with 1, when you already have something with 0? Now they are doing the same thing with Pepsi Edge! Diet Pepsi has 0 grams of sugar. That is better the whatever 1/2 the sugar is.

I'm starting to see a trend here. First there was New Coke. Then Crystal Clear Pepsi (which I like) Then the Lo Carb drinks, and now this. If any one from Coke or Pepsireads this (like thats gonna happen) do your self a favor. Instead of wasting millions of dolors developing and marketing a new drink (plus the time and space to store it) Just give it to me! I promise to put the money in my World Domination fund. Ok, that's not entirely true. I'll buy the Vikings, then I'll put the rest int he fund. And I promise that Pepsi or Coke will become the official drink of the plant once I take it over (depending on which company gives me more money. :))

Good for you.

BTW. if using the bird leads to something bad involving a nuclear reactor, you never read this.

Talk To Ya Later
