I'm going to have to start doing this

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

Lol. sounds like somehting I would come up wiht.

It's been a while since I did the One Minute Writing thing, so I figured I would start again. If nothing else, it gives me something to post each day.

Today's topic is:

Linda Evangelista said she wouldn't get out of bed for less than $10,000.

What makes you get out of bed each morning?

I have to admit, I did take slightly longer the a minute this time. but I was almost done with the sentence, so I figured I better finish it. although the last sentence does make me sound like an alcoholic. Or an Irishman. of course sometimes it is hard to tell the difference.

What makes me get out of bed in the morning? Generally having to go to the bathroom does the trick. or having to go to work or somewhere else that would require getting out of bed. or being able to play a game I've been playing and really liking like Ghostbusters. of course a Guinness would be a good reason to get up too.
I had to post this. For some reason I haven't been able to stop laughing at this one.

After kind of forgetting about it for a while (and who can blame me with Blackest Night approaching) I finally went back to Wikipedia to find out who won the Battle For The Cowl

Big shock it was Dick.

for real big shock is that Damian is the new Robin. He's suited up as Robin before, but I didn't expect to see him officially take on the role.

The real question here though is what will happen to Tim? He was seriously injured fighting Jason, and obviously needs time to recover, but when that happens will there be a fight between him and Damian over who will be Robin? or will he be happy outside of the superhero life and focus on his relationship with Spoiler

It does confirm that the new series, Batman and Robin is not a "What If?" type story like I originally thought. the description of a Light-Hearted Batman and a dark and brooding Robin gave that impression, but since it stars Dick as Batman and Damian as Robin, that makes perfect sense.

One thing that I think will be interesting to see is how they deal with their "Brother" Jason, who apparently has once again moved to the dark side. I'm kind of looking forward to the battles between them. after all, all four of them were trained by Bruce, so it should be a good story when they finally have to face Jason again.

Update: did some checking and I forgot about the new series debuting after the Battle For The Cowl, Red Robin. Apparently Tim took over as the new Red Robin (a role formerly filled by Jason and an alternate reality Dick) to search for Bruce. Guess he isn't taking it easy after all.

Update 2: In case anyone is wondering why I put Brother in quotations in reference to Jason, it is because he is not technically part of the family. Damian is Bruce's biological son, Dick and Tim are his adopted sons. Jason was never adopted, probably because he has (or had) living relatives who weren't criminals (Damian's mom is Talia al Ghul) the fourth sibling is Cassandra, the current Bat Girl, who Bruce adopted after she saves her father, a member of the League Of Assassins, when she could have killed him. Her mother is Lady Shiva, who jumps between hero and villain

Writing Roundup--June 15, 2009

Didn't post one of these last Monday. I'll get to why in a bit. First to cover the last one's checklist of stuff I wanted to get done.

Unfortunately I didn't get much done that week. The day after posting the Writing Roundup, my Grandma died. Needless to say I didn't get any writing done. I didn't help much with planning the funeral, but I didn't really feel like doing anything that required thinking. I did get some comics done for last week, but they were all strips that I had written a week before and just had to make.

Was going to post a new Roundup last Monday, but I got up late and didn't have time before I had to leave to take a bunch of kids to Kids Camp. and since there was little free time for the counselors, I didn't get much done last week either, although I did get a couple things started and figured out the ending of a new Watchajambe story. I also came up with a few ideas for new stories, which I can't wait to develop further.

As for this week, pretty simple. I'm going to try to get the July 2008 episodes of Powersurge as well as Night OF Champions 2008 done. I also hope to get Dragon's Birth and maybe that new Watchajambe story.

I SURVIVED KIDS CAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, June 02, 2009

As promised (and characteristically late) here are the pics of Rampage and Breakaway in vehicle mode

I also got Sideways and Sideswipe, because I can.

Quick! Which is Sideways and which is Sideswipe?

if you answer "The Silver one is Sideways (or Sideswipe) a pack of Ninja Monkeys has been dispachted to eliminate you.

really the only way to tell at a glance is one has red windows (Sideways) and the other has blue windows (Sideswipe) Sideswipe doesn't have a faction insignia in vehicle mode, while Sideways has on the tailgate lid (where a company logo might be, if he were a real car and not a faked-up-big-time-so-they-don't-have-to-pay-licensing-fees Audi R8)

Reviews coming soon

Writing Roundup--June 1, 2009

Been a while since I did one of these. March 24, 2008 to be exact. I haven't writing a huge amount since then, kind of went through a dry spell creatively and then I got behind on stuff and of course that didn't help any. Hopefully doing these will help.

I'm also going to set some weekly goals (yeah, because that worked so well on the Game Journal)Nothing major, at least at the moment. Just a few stories with a deadline of the next Sunday. should be able to do that.

According to my records, I retro-posted the following stories.

The Battle Resumes (The Sacrifice Part 3)
Thomas
Please Recycle(HTTOTW Part 4)
Lessons Learned While Taking Apart A Laptop Screen
Green Hill Zone (Final Level Part 2)

I also got Red White and Bruised posted over on SPW Check it out. The Iceman VS Golden--Last Man Standing match and Canadian Connection VS Space Cowboys--Tag Title match are some of the best matches I've written in a long time, which is why I posted them here :)

As for goals for this week, I'm going to keep it simple. All the SPW Powersuge shows for July 2008. I got 1 done, and those shows are easy. its just a matter of doing them. I also hope to finally get Dragon's Birth, part 5 of Dragon done. and maybe a couple more.

Lets see if I can pull it off in time.
